HOW TO KILL RACCOONS

driving home from an enjoyable afternoon of pumpkin patches and pizza with fam and friends, i recieved a twitter (www.twitter.com) text notice.  I am driving...at night...with my 2 boys and wife in the car so do you think I check the message?   Sure i did!  Well, as I checked the message and, between glances at the road, began to read it, my wife yells, "CHAD!!"  And I look up just in time to see a Raccoon run out if front of my Jeep and then...BUMP-BUMP.

I killed a raccoon.  my wife was sad.  my 3 year old was intrigued.

So I promised to never text and drive ever again - we'll see.  But this i do know...had i been paying attention to my primary task, driving, I may have kept us from being one raccoon closer to extinction.

Dont get too busy.  Dont do too much at once.  Be 'there' whereever 'there' is.  We would be amazed at what we could swerve to miss or what we could enjoy if we would just be 'all there'.

What a brilliant insight. It also makes me think of how we can impact other's lives at the same time. Sometimes us failing to "swerve" can damage the life of others. this is why I hate texting, j/k
